Types of Orthodontic Emergencies

Severe Pain or Swelling

If you experience sudden, severe pain or significant swelling around your teeth, jaws, or face, this requires immediate attention.

These symptoms might indicate an infection or other serious condition that needs prompt treatment.

What We’ll Do

  • Conduct an immediate examination
  • Use advanced imaging for precise diagnosis
  • Provide immediate pain relief solutions
  • Create a targeted treatment plan
  • Coordinate with other specialists if needed

Trauma to the Mouth or Face

If you’ve experienced an injury to your mouth, teeth, or face:

  1. Assess for bleeding and apply gentle pressure if needed
  2. Check for loose or displaced teeth
  3. Rinse with warm salt water if possible
  4. Contact our office immediately

Important Note: For severe trauma or injuries involving head trauma, broken bones, or significant bleeding, visit the nearest emergency room first. We’ll coordinate with emergency medical providers for follow-up orthodontic care.
